Video of the Year
I cannot take credit for stumbling across this. Excellent video. Give it a chance. It's only a little over 3 minutes.
I hate trains.
What is up with Oklahoma City running the blasted trains in the morning when people are trying to get to work, at lunch when people are hungry and during rush hour when people want to go home? It is just annoying! I can count 21 other hours in the day that they can use the railways to transport stuff. There have been days when I have been caught all three times. Today, on my way back from lunch there was a train on the tracks (Western & Britton) just sitting in the middle of the road. Not moving. Honestly, I was patient for about the first five or so minutes and then the whole thing just started to make me angry. So, of course I called my husband to complain. He quietly listened and then closed with this....."Gee, hope no one got hit!" Nice, thanks. Now I feel bad.

BarBar Eco 8000 Blow Dryer
My hairdryer is on the fritz. Actually, I think it is about to die. I secretly think my husband has been plotting the death of my beloved hairdryer for quite some time. He hates that thing. Or rather, hates that I use it and then leave it sitting on top of the toilet seat everyday. We have what you would call a very small bathroom from the 1950's - decked out with pedestal sink (pretty but completely non-functional), turquoise ceramic tile and no counter space. Kind of leaves a girl who loves makeup and hair products in a bit of a pickle. Which leaves the commode as my main place to put things. When you stop and think, it's sort of gross. I bought this "hairdryer holster" from a home improvements magazine. It's still in the box a year later. I am just not sure where to hang it. Plus, what happens when company comes over and you want to put everything away.....there the holster hangs completely empty. Maybe, this bad boy will solve all my problems. 1000 watts of Eco-friendly, cordless magic. Saving the environment and my marriage :)

Confessions of a Shopaholic
I eagerly await the release of this movie! February 6th cannot come quick enough. I have watched the trailer so many times.....I am actually afraid the movie won't be funny when I finally see it. I was reading InStyle magazine last night and there was a whole page devoted to this movie - complete with photos and designer information. The pink Zac Posen dress Isla Fisher wears is simply to die for. Patricia Fields is a fashion genius! She belts everything. I guess if I had a closet full of vintage belts, I would wear one every day too! My guess, the movie contains at least one Birkin bag.

Score
I can't stop smelling my hair. Seriously, people at work are starting to give me funny looks. This shampoo and conditioner are AWESOME! I can't believe Paul Mitchell hair products are still around. Anyway, let me just post the words that convinced me to impulse purchase.
The soothing fragrance of lavender and the fresh notes of tea tree and mint will make your scalp tingle with glee. This hydrating duo will also calm unruly locks (which I totally have!) and moisturize coarse ones, and is safe enough for color treated hair.
It's like this shampoo was made specifically for me!

Project Runway
I miss you! When will you return? You were the one show I looked forward to watching every week. Heidi, Nina, Michael....hurry back soon.
I decided to look around on the world wide web for Leanne Marshall. I was so happy that she won last season. She has a new site. I am pretty sure every girl wishes they could sew like she can. She is incredibly talented.

Stocking stuffers
I really enjoy hot tea. So being the thoughtful husband he is, this was in my stocking. Either this was his attempt at a really bad joke, or his subtle hint that I need a major attitude adjustment once a month. Let me translate the fine print. "Herb Tea for PMS/Menopause." Now that is love.
I heart this pen! I got several of these for Christmas. I tend to be extremely picky about my preferred writing utensil. Perfection.

No catchy title
I love this purse! The color is perfect.....reminds me of coffee with the perfect amount of milk. Who doesn't love a real Italian leather bag. Alas, out of my price range.
I guess this is the new Polaroid camera. I still love the old ones. Waiting for the pictures to develop brings back fond memories. My hubby has a Polaroid camera (among his growing camera collection) but finding film is a different story. I did notice that you can buy it online. It's so expensive!

An open letter....
Dear chin hair,
Where did you come from and why do you insist on returning? You just showed up out of the blue and have set up permanent residence on my formerly hairless chin.
I am not old enough to have one of your kind quite yet.
Sincerely,
Seriously upset

The rearranger
I love this and would like to have it for our dining room. Our household recently underwent a bit of a transition (I guess not having a kitchen floor is a pretty big transition). I love to move a room and change things up. My mother says that I get bored with things easily. Unfortunately, I am married to a man that doesn't share the same affinity for completely transforming a space. He is a good sport and will humor me. I like things on angles in the corner. Always have. He just shakes his head (much like my father used to do) and mutters "it won't work" under his breath. I have this grand vision for how I want something to turn out but always need help executing it and get frustrated when my idea doesn't work.
To some degree I think I am never content. There is always something I want to change, or make better. There will always be a "and then" with me. Sorry, Mr. Nash. Thank you for understanding.

Friday ramblings
I tried to make one of these about a month ago. I saw them in Lucky magazine and thought to myself I could totally make that! I still think I could have. The problem, finding little tiny pretty feathers. I looked. Hard. Oh well, Urban Outfitters just saved me the headache. I am told it will arrive on my doorstep sometime next week.
Blogging in my head. It is something I find myself doing a lot! I've had many conversations about this with friends and I am assured it is normal. Well, common might be a better word. Throughout the day, I find myself writing blogs in my head or when I am out and about saying "hmmm, that would make a good blog". When I haven't posted in a few days I feel pressure to find something interesting to write about. Does anyone else experience that? I do it to myself. I always turn something that is supposed to be fun or a creative outlet into a chore. I don't mean blogging is a chore. I just mean that I find a way to make everything into a big deal. Anyone who knows me should not be surprised by this. So, I am trying to relax a bit. Especially about the little things. I've been this way for 31 years......somehow I don't think it will come naturally. My parents gave me this great book in high school. Don't Sweat The Small Stuff. I had forgotten about it until yesterday afternoon. It was the only book that fell off the bookshelf as we were moving it (we rearranged the furniture in our bedroom - what a difference it makes!) I am taking that as a sign!
It has come to my attention that certain aspects of my site no longer work with Internet Explorer. I probably won't be fixing the problem anytime soon. Mainly, because I don't know how. Consider yourself informed. If you have noticed anything funny, you might want to consider using Firefox.
